Honoring a life of service
Flags, insignia, medals and personal details can become part of a piece made to keep. Our military recognition work gives those records a place in the home and in the story of a career.
A cap made for Tunnel to Towers
SHB donated an engraved America anniversary barrel cap for the 2026 event. The live auction raised $10,000 from the piece, as reported by Tunnel to Towers - Southern IL - STL.
Conservation, carried in the carving
A custom cap for Riverbend Ducks Unlimited brings waterfowl, wetlands and the responsibility of conservation into one design.
A shop opened for an Eagle project
For Ben’s flag-retirement box, SHB contributed shop space, time and hands-on help. The finished piece gives the community a place to leave worn flags for respectful retirement.
Kris Coats: the piece and the occasion
A shadow-box cabinet and an engraved cap became part of Chief Master Sergeant Kris Coats’s retirement at Scott Air Force Base. Ryan and Faith were there to see the work become part of the gathering.
Pinewood Derby: pass the work forward
From annual shop build nights to volunteering with a local pack, Pinewood Derby gives Ryan a way to pass the work forward. His grandfather helped him build his own cars; now that grandfather’s workbench is part of the shop where another generation gets to build.
Andrew Dunseith: a shared effort, carried through
Service members across the country helped bring Andrew Dunseith’s retirement project together. SHB worked through Memorial Day weekend to complete the cabinet and display before its journey to Quantico.
